Landscape Maintenance Districts
Landscape Maintenance District assessments are used to pay for landscaping parkways, medians, and extensive landscaping existing in and around specific major residential/commercial development areas.
Maintenance of public landscaping includes trimming of bushes and plant material, weed abatement, litter removal, tree trimming and installation of new plants and/or trees. The frequency of these services varies depending upon the financial resources provided by the property owners. Funding is provided through a parcel charge levied on the annual property tax bill.
The following Landscape Maintenance Districts are currently being administered by the City:

Zone D – Parkway Landscape Maintenance
Property owners within Zone D program boundaries fund the costs of landscape maintenance of those parkways and/or medians which benefit their properties. Maintenance services generally include: mowing and trimming of turf areas, pruning shrubs and ground cover, trimming trees, fertilizer applications, litter removal, weed control, repair and monitoring of irrigation systems, replacement of plant materials, payment of water and electric utility charges, and administration costs.
Depending upon the amount of funding approved by the property owners for the landscape maintenance services, the level and frequency of service may vary.

Zone E – Extensive Parkway Landscape Maintenance
The Zone E program funds and provides landscape maintenance service for extensive landscaping existing in and around specific major residential/commercial development areas. Zone M – Median Maintenance
Property owners benefiting from the arterial medians fund the landscape maintenance of the median by participating in the Zone M program. Zone M services generally include: mowing and trimming of turf areas, pruning shrubs and ground cover, trimming trees, fertilizer applications, litter removal, weed control, repair and monitoring of irrigation systems, replacement of plant materials, maintenance of landscape and monument accent lighting, payment of water and electric utility charges, and administration costs.

Zone S – Sunnymead Boulevard Maintenance
The Zone S program provides a funding mechanism and maintenance program for the landscaping improvements installed as part of the Sunnymead Boulevard Revitalization Program. Properties participating in the program include those along Sunnymead Boulevard, between Frederick Street and Perris Boulevard. Zone S services generally include: pruning shrubs, trimming trees, fertilizer applications, litter removal, weed control, repair and monitoring of irrigation systems, replacement of plant materials, payment of water and electric utility charges, and administration costs.

Landscape Maintenance District 2014-02
The Landscape Maintenance District (LMD) 2014-02 provides maintenance service for parkway and/or median landscaping. Maintenance services generally include: mowing and trimming of turf areas, pruning shrubs and ground cover, trimming trees, fertilizer applications, litter removal, weed control, repair and monitoring of irrigation systems, replacement of plant materials, maintenance of landscape and monument accent lighting, payment of water and electric utility charges, and administration costs. These landscape maintenance services are funded through an assessment collected on the annual property tax bill. Depending upon the amount of funding approved by the property owners for the landscape maintenance services, the level and frequency of service may vary.

CFD No. 2014-01
CFD No. 2014-01 was formed in March 2014 to fund the ongoing maintenance of public landscaping and operation of street lights. Property owners within district boundaries fund the cost of the services that are provided to their development.
Landscape Maintenance Services
Maintaining, servicing and operating landscape improvements and associated appurtenances located within the public right-of-way and within dedicated landscape easements for the CFD. These improvements may include but are not limited to parkways, medians, open space landscaping, fencing, monuments, ornamental lighting, drainage, turf, ground cover, shrubs, vines and trees, irrigation systems, and appurtenant facilities and structures. Fundable costs may include, but are not limited to: (i) contracting costs for landscape maintenance services, including litter removal, (ii) salaries and benefits of City staff, (iii) expenses related to equipment, apparatus, and supplies related to these services, (iv) City administrative and overhead costs associated with providing such services within the CFD, and (v) lifecycle costs associated with the repair and replacement of facilities.These Services are in addition to those provided in the territory within the CFD prior to the establishment of the CFD and such Services will not supplant services already available within the CFD.

CFD No. 4-M (Centerpointe Basin)
CFD No. 4-M was formed in October 2005 to provide stormwater facilities maintenance for properties within the Centerpointe Business Park industrial development.

Report a broken or leaking sprinkler on City maintained property (medians, landscaped areas on arterial streets, open space, parks, or multi-use trails).
Contracts for Landscape Maintenance Services
Ongoing maintenance is provided through professional landscape maintenance contractors. Contractors are selected through a competitive request for proposal process.
