CRC life and accident insurance provides financial protection for you and your family in the event of a serious accident or death.

CRC pays the full cost of coverage for Basic Life and Occupational Accidental Death and Dismemberment coverage. You may purchase additional life and accident insurance for yourself and your family.

who's eligible

  • All regular, full-time, non-union hourly or salaried employees regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week.
  • Union-represented employees are eligible if provided for in the collective bargaining agreement.
  • For voluntary AD&D, your eligible dependents include:
    • Your spouse/domestic partner.
    • Your child from birth through age 26, or your child age 26 years or older, if disabled.

  • Life insurance benefits are paid to a designated beneficiary in the event of your death.

  • Provides accident coverage while you are at work, traveling on company business and commuting to and from your home and workplace.
  • Company-provided coverage equal to the greater of $500,000 or 3 times your annual base pay up to $3 million.
  • Benefits are paid to you and/or your beneficiary for loss of life or certain serious injuries.

When Coverage Begins

  • If you enroll within 31 days of hire: Coverage begins on your date of hire.
  • If you enroll after 31 days: Coverage begins on the date you enroll.

Benefit Amount

  • Provides 24-hour financial protection for you and your eligible dependents if you die or suffer a serious injury.
  • You may purchase the following coverage: 
    • Yourself: One to 10 times your annual base pay up to $1 million.
    • Spouse/Domestic Partner: 50% or 100% of your elected coverage amount, up to $1 million.
    • Dependent Children: Each dependent child is automatically covered for $10,000 if you enroll for coverage.

voluntary group universal life insurance (gul)

Plan Features

Benefit Amount

If you apply for coverage within 31 days of first being eligible for GUL, you can select the following coverages:

  • Yourself:
    • One-half, one or two times your base pay, up to $500,000, without providing medical information.
    • Up to six times your base pay (up to $2 million maximum) with proof of good health.
  • Spouse/Domestic Partner:
    • Increments of $10,000, $25,000, $50,0000, $75,000, $100,000 or $150,000.
  • Dependent Children:  
    • $10,000 each.

If you enroll after 31 days of being eligible, you must provide proof of good health for any coverage amount you select.

beneficiary designation

We’ve made it easy for you to set up and maintain your life insurance beneficiary designations.

  • Go to the Prudential website.
  • Select "Start Now" or log in.
  • In the Control Number field, enter 51849.
  • Complete the required information and create a personal User ID and password.
